Dr. Taylor

If you are looking for a consistent face to see with all your pet's needs you can be assured that will take place here at BVC as Dr. Taylor is our sole practitioner. Dr. Taylor grew up in Waynesboro, VA. He attended Longwood University and graduated with a degree in Biology before being accepted into the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) from where he earned the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2000.  After a short year and a half as a mixed animal practitioner Dr. Taylor and his family moved to Richmond, VA. From 2002 until 2012 Dr. Taylor worked primarily in emergency & specialty medicine while keeping active as a relief veterinarian for some local veterinary hospitals. Those 10 years formed the veterinarian he is today but never really allowed Dr. Taylor for develop long-term lasting patient/client relationships. So when the opportunity presented itself to allow Dr. Taylor to step into BVC and continue the tradition of family veterinary care that had been established it was a "no-brainer".  Dr. Taylor has been married with his wife, Daphne, for 24 years. They have two children, a son-Trevor and daughter Avery. Outside of the clinic Dr. Taylor enjoys anything sports related. He is an avid weight lifter but his biggest side passion is coaching football. Dr. Taylor is the Defensive Coordinator for the varsity football team at Trinity Episcopal School here in Richmond.

As you will see from the employee notes below a top priority for us beyond quality veterinary medicine is creating a true family environment here at BVC. As with any profession we must spend as many, if not more, hours here at the clinic than at home with our immediate family members. It has been and will continue to be our goal to have our staff members feel comfortable at work so it is enjoyable and that enthusiasm hopefully shows through in our interactions with our client/pet family members. We work tirelessly to hire and retain a small dedicated group of staff members. In this way we will not likely be the biggest or most profitable veterinary hospital in the area and with a single doctor on staff there may be times when an immediate appointment is not available. However, what we can promise is our plan allows for your doctor to intimately know the details of your pet's medical history, for you to feel comfortable you will always see the same doctor/staff and if we feel your medical circumstances require additional attention we will ensure you have the information needed to get that care.

Dr. Taylor is ultimately proud to have the opportunity to work daily with the BVC family members that he readily considers part of his own personal extended family!  He looks forward to adding you to that family.
